The initial step in Hazardous Area Compliance in the classification of both gas and dust hazardous areas. Applying legislation, HA Compliance will perform the Classification and provide you with a Hazardous Area Classification Schedule containing a full report, source of release table and flammable goods properties table. HA Compliance can also develop Hazardous Area Drawings, showing zonal extents and the classification of the gas and/or dust.
All Hazardous Area Classifications should be reviewed periodically to ensure that the classification covers the same areas as the initial classification when changes on site may affect zonal extents .
-
Our capabilities can provide a full Hazardous Area electrical design or a third-party design review on your current design review design. The electrical design will be completed in compliance with the applicable standards, acts, and regulations, including AS/NZS 60079.14, IEC 60079.14 or Euronorms which incorporate:
• Equipment and cable selection
• Equipment selection
• Cable Schedules and wiring diagrams
• Maximum Power Dissipation calculations
• Descriptive System Documents for IS circuits
• Verification Dossier development or updating

Electrical equipment requires selection and installation according to the hazardous area electrical design. The hazardous area installation is an electrical installation and needs to be installed and tested in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 as well as the latest edition of the hazardous area standard AS/NZS 60079.14
The hazardous area installation needs to be installed by an electrician with an electrical licence for that State and holding the required competency under the electrotechnical training package.

HA Compliance is experienced domestically and internationally with the design, installation, maintenance, and inspection of electrical installations and equipment in hazardous areas. It is a legislative requirement for all “NEW” hazardous area installations in Queensland to be audited by an auditor accredited by the Electrical Safety Office (ESO) prior to energization. HA Compliance has an endorsed Hazardous Area Auditor that allows us to carry out “internal audits” for all installations within or external to Queensland.
-
Where equipment is required that does not have Certification suitable for an Australian installation HA Compliance can carry out a Conformity Assessment to determine the suitability and provide a full report on the outcome. We will complete the assessment and provide a full report on conformity, if the report shows that there is an ‘equivalent level of safety’ to the current version of AS/NZS 60079.14 or IEC 60079.14, there will be a positive outcome allowing the equipment to be installed in an Australian installation.

A Fitness for purpose report is required for explosion-protected aspects of equipment that has no certificate of conformity available, or if the origin of a certificate cannot be verified.
The requirements of AS/NZS 60079.17 also needs to be followed.
The FFP includes gathering, establishing, and evaluating technical information on relevant explosion- protection types. A report needs to be developed including evaluations and findings, with recommendations that are based on the following.
• conditions of control
• adequate engineering
• safety requirements
• economic considerations.

Due to the nature of the Hazardous Area specialized design and installation, a concise maintenance and inspection program needs to be put in place for safety and compliance. Full compliance prevents the possibility of a dangerous situation that may give rise to a possible explosion. With outstanding domestic and international experience, our technical team can work with your specialists and key personnel to develop the required programs to ensure overall Hazards Areas compliance.
-
The Verification Dossier is a very important aspect of a hazardous area installation where all relevant documentation for that installation is kept and be comprehensible for anybody to access the required information. HA Compliance can manage the creation, implementation, or ongoing utilization of your site Verification Dossier ensuring compliance with all relative legislation. We have a streamlined Verification Dossier template that aligns with AS/NZS60079.14 and AS/NZS60079.17 ensuring full compliance that can be implemented on your assets.
-
Where ever an Intrinsically Safe (IS) circuit is installed it needs to have a Descriptive System Document developed to ensure the compliance and safety of all IS circuits.
Hazardous Area Compliance can develop these documents in compliance to all current standards.
-
We can perform training for all of your EEHA requirements working with an RTO for accredited training or can develop specific non-accredtied training for your specific needs.
Training for IEC and other foreign schemes can also be arranged.
